Krabi Kozy Place pool was so nice as we started to adjust to the extreme heat and very high humidity. It was actually hard to breath at times and then a cannon ball into the pool! Wonderful!
Now let us introduce Koh Siboya... We caught a taxi from Krabi Kozy Place to a pier about 45 minutes away to take a boat taxi to the island of Koh Siboya. The taxi's are for everything you can fit onto a flat deck of a boat including scooters, cargo, humans on 2 decks and the crew. We piled into the boat and we were off to our remote island.
As we pulled out to sea we were a little nervous but everybody else seemed to act like this was just another day on a boat taxi, so off we went. All was great and then we saw this very sinister looking dude cruise past us and fortunately we got a picture of him. Very cool pirate looking sailor or a throw back from the Viet Cong days. To be honest, his appearance did make us a little nervous and we then realized how remote we really were going to be for the next 10 days. Hhhmmm...
We cruised a little further out to sea and our hearts were immediately warmed with the site of the Rastifarian Bob Marley fishing boat!!! Ya maaaan, this trip is going to be cool!
Welcome to Thai West Resort on Koh Siboya. (Some spell it Ko Sriboya)
The resort was beautiful and with only 2 other guests for 7 out of our 10 days we basicly had the resort to ourselves and for 3 days we did have it all to ourselves. We went for a walk down the 5 km beach every morning, ate our breakfast on the patio and then went for a swim in the ocean. We spent every afternoon on the beach or resting in the shade, hiding from the intense afternoon heat. Needless to say, the sunsets were amazing here as well. You just can't beat a west facing view in this country.
We had a blast!
We love you!
